September 16, 2010 – January 2, 2011

Méndez Blake uses literature as a conceptual tool to articulate a language that spans writing and visual arts. His work explores the possible connections between classical literature, art and culture, merging together a complex mix of historical and geographical elements,  inviting to re-think cultural manifestations and the relationships between them.

The LAND Project is a city-wide event throughout the year of 2010 in Los Angeles which will present a series of temporary projects created by Mexican artists in celebration of the Mexican bicentennial.

MoLAA will present an exhibition that will be part of a series of actions in Los Angeles public libraries, in which the artist will remove temporarily the poetry books and create site-specific installations. This project is organized in collaboration with LAND (Los Angeles Nomadic Division) and was a “work in progress”, changing throughout the duration of the exhibition.
